Shanghai Base Metals Rise But At Slower Pace
Base metals on the Shanghai Futures Exchange were risen Wednesday, underpinned by a new record high on the London Metal Exchange, hit during Asia trading.
Supportive factors include equities markets in the region and a firming euro against the dollar, which made the dollar-denominated metals cheaper for other currency holders.
Immediate cues for participants include Chinese economic data for December due around 0200 GMT Thursday.
The market expects the data to show a smaller rise in the country’s consumer-goods prices.
