Coalition calls for secure supply of medical isotopes
A coalition of several organizations, including SNM, released a white paper calling on lawmakers to ensure the stable supply of molybdenum-99 and consider a public-private partnership to fast-track production of the isotope for patient care.
The coalition also said the transition from the use of high-enriched uranium to low-enriched uranium in the production of medical isotopes must be allotted enough time for research and development so the process would not jeopardize patient care.
