Lye thieves get away metal worth £10k
THIEVES sneakily haven’t been found after stealing metal castings worth £10,000 after they broke into a specialist foundry in Lye.
Sergeant Steve Gordon, from Stourbridge police station, said: “To lose £10,000 worth of stock is a lot for a small local business like Vanguard to consume.
“I am sure the metal has been stolen to be sold on to scrap metal dealers, so I would ask scrap dealers not to accept these metal castings and instead contact the police with information.”
“We are keen to catch these offenders and officers will be patrolling the area and visiting scrapyards to gather intelligence.
“I would urge anyone with information to come forward and speak with officers based at Stourbridge, you can contact us on 0345 113 5000.”
